Near
I walk slowly down the hallway. I feel good, ready for what lies ahead. I feel you behind the door. Your scent, always a comfort, always a reminder. Do you know I’m here? Yes, I think you do. You remain aloof and preoccupied, but I know you feel me too. You always know what I want and what I need. We’ve had this dance many times over. I want to run to you. I cannot. I wear nothing. A surprise for you lover. You see me in the reflection of the mirror. You watch me. You don’t move. Waiting for me to make my way to you. I kneel before you. It begins.

I feel you, Baby.
Anna, that was as beautiful as it always is.
You know when I think about you (aside from when I just think of you as a woman, which is often), I think about you as a writer. Just wanted you to know, in case you've never had that thought yourself.
Kent - I feel you too...
WDKY - What a compliment. I don't know what to say...thank you.
Sometimes it is the anticipation, the build up, the reveal, that makes the dance so worthwhile. As always beautiful words from a beautiful lady. :)
Not as graceful as some of your pieces, but consistent throughout. The ending is great.
It beigns.
So much in those two little words.
Reading your blog is a symetry of poetry... Quite enjoyable...
I think this one is very graceful--I love the tempo and pacing with the short sentences. Each one adds another layer of anticipation and tension up until the release with the final two lines.
Very beautifully written, Anna
Art - Thank you Art!
Munkey - I completely agree.
Anteros - Welcome and thank you! I'll be visiting your blog very soon.
TJ - Thank you so much...
